What our students are saying…

“Practicing Yin Yoga has changed my world. With pain of tight muscles, plantar fasciitus, plus sciatica, the simple principles of yin have reduced my pain and improved my circulation.” - Evelyn, 55, longshore worker

“Danielle is such a easy going, go with the flow kinda soul. She is so very kind and welcoming. Which makes it easy to be comfortable in her classes. There have been multiple of times where I have drifted off to zzz land. Then come back to the sound her voice still chit chatting to anyone who stays to talk. She has this love and light that lifts others. I am very happy I can be apart of this, wait for it ... yin-adventure!” - Jess M., Victoria BC

“My experiences practicing yin yoga with Danielle have been second to none. She is a fantastic instructor, a wonderful human being, an a yogi who can acutely detect what is going on in someone’s body when she is leading them through practice. Her attention to detail is on point. No matter where Danielle is, what she is doing or who she is working with, she puts her heart and soul into everything she does. Practicing yoga with Danielle is fun, challenging, and relaxing and I would recommend it to anybody!” - S.A.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • A virtual studio is an accessible, neutral place for you to practice, connect, and collaborate with like-minded yogis around the country. You'll receive guidance from Danielle Hoogenboom, an experienced teacher, in the comfort of your own home.

We love our virtual studio because it's a low-barrier way to get your yoga in! A virtual studio is accessible, reduces travel and rental costs, and reaches a global audience. We're able to offer classes at a significantly more affordable price point than a regular studio. Attendance at live classes is amazing, but not mandatory - you'll also receive a recording that you can practice with throughout the week!

  • Yin yoga is a predominantly floor-based practice of long, gentle holds held over time with the use of supportive props. Unlike other forms of yoga, yin is more energetic than muscular. The emphasis is on using breath, calming the mind and integrating your own intuition to create a holistic and centering practice.

  • Everyone is welcome and this class is for all levels. You don't need anything to participate except an internet connection and yourself. It's helpful if you have a few props from around your house (see below). The teacher will offer variations and modifications for each post, and you are free to opt out of whatever isn't working for you.

  • You'll need a mat or a blanket to sit on. Otherwise, this is a modified home practice, so you can use what you have. The teacher will provide many variations and modifications. You don't need conventional yoga props like a bolster or blocks, but you can use them if you'd like. We suggest you have a few pillows or couch cushions, as well as a few blankets or towels on hand until you get to know what you like.

  • Danielle Hoogenboom is the primary teacher but there may also be subs or special guests from the Love Light Yoga team in the future. They are all LLY School certified.

  • Three easy steps!

    (1) You create an account using the Join Now or Sign Up buttons on this page.

    (2) After creating an account, you will be redirected to purchase a monthly membership.

    (3) You receive an email each week with direct links to live studio classes, and you can access recordings anytime through our custom digital library site.

  • Before each class begins, we gather together for a Check-Yin. The teacher will be available for 15 minutes before class to help you with set up, answer questions, or chat.

At the designated time, class will begin. The teacher will guide you through a yin yoga class and demonstrate where appropriate. You’ll follow along however works for you. You can choose whether or not to have your camera on. The teacher will turn off all audio for all participants when class starts.

After we wrap up, you can exit the meeting and keep blissing out, or stick around for another 15 minutes of discussion and community.

  • Yes, you will be able to see the teacher throughout the class. You can choose to turn your camera on if you wish. That said, Yin is a very self-oriented and self-aware practice. It is not important for you to see the teacher at all times because the focus is on you and your inner experience.

  • There's a chat box option within Zoom, where you can send a private message to the teacher or to the group. In addition, the teacher will be available for questions in the group meeting room for 15 minutes before and after class. If you have injuries that need special modifications or have private concerns, please send an email in advance.

  • Kids and pets are absolutely welcome to stroll across your mat or join into your practice! All your friends are invited, too, but please purchase a pass for each adult attending the session. We're a small business and every little bit makes this a possible new format.

  • Awesome!! Book an individual class session with Danielle in our shop or join our Yin School!
