Yoga for the Brain with Vancouver Brain Lab

Over the course of four interactive modules, this workshop offers a combination of theory, practice, and technically based demonstrations to increase students’ capacity to understand and negotiate stress and trauma. 

• Stress and Parasympathetic Yoga
• Traumology Yoga: Neuro-Anatomy and Physiology of Trauma
• HRV and Heart Rate Variability Yoga: The Art of Sweet and Strong
• Mindfulness and Paying-Attention Yoga.v

Students will learn how yoga-based movements support healing from trauma by combining the basic concepts behind the neurological, psychological, and physiological aspects of stress and its recovery. This includes biofeedback based mindfulness and promoting a shift from post-traumatic stress to post-traumatic growth. 

The workshop includes an individual brainwave and biofeedback assessment.

Hiroko Demichelis is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and works with individuals to ameliorate trauma and suffering, and increase psychological well-being. She is an expert in the field of neuro-psycho-physiology and the use of neuro and biofeedback. She is passionate about meditation, design and gelato. Danielle  Hoogenboom has been sharing yin yoga and its ability to heal and perpetuate social, spiritual, and physical change for over a decade.
